In the Shadow of Eternity

   As the chosen arbiters of God’s will for creation, the Archon Order known as the Majira oversees the cultivation and development of consciousness in lesser species, including the newly emergent hominins.

   While the morphological similarities between the Archons and the nascent humans invites comparison, this comparison serves neither species well. To the Archons, it is an insult— while the deficiencies of the humans can only appear more repulsive in the light of their betters. What is man, but a distorted echo of a far greater act of creation?

   Yet when a new heresy threatens to divide the Majira, the humans and their planet become the epicenter of a great testing—not of any particular species—but of God Himself.
